Planet Coaster’s Ghostbusters expansion heading to consoles later this week • Eurogamer.net

Alongside the movie-themed Studios Pack.

Planet Coaster: Console Edition players on Xbox and PlayStation can soon bring a touch of movie magic to their parks with the arrival of two more DLC expansions – Ghostbusters and the Studios Pack – on 29th April.

Planet Coaster: Ghostbusters (which you can get a taste of in the PC trailer below) marks a slight departure from the theme park sim’s usual ride-and-scenery-based DLC format by delivering a brand-new story-driven campaign – in this instance, inspired by the beloved 80s supernatural-comedy movie, complete with guest appearances from Dan Aykroyd and William Atherton.

That’s not to say new rides and scenery aren’t also forthcoming. Planet Coaster: Ghostbusters adds the likes of ECTO-1, Slimer, the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man, Ghostbusters HQ, and Spook Central on the scenery front, and it expands the base game’s ride roster with the Slimer-themed RollerGhoster and The Ghostbusters Experience, an interactive track ride where guests (and players) can bust ghosts to rack up points.

Planet Coaster: Ghostbusters will be accompanied by a second, separate paid DLC on 29th April in the form of the Studios Pack. This one aims to bring a bit of Hollywood pizzazz to players’ theme park creations – with a focus on stunt shows and backlot tours – and promises “90 new blueprints, hundreds of new scenery items and construction pieces”.

Ride-wise, there’s the Big Screen Tour – a bus-based ride for those guided backlot tours – as well as Horror Heights (a drop-tower ride along the lines of Disney’s Tower of Terror), plus Re-Motion, a simulator-style tracked ride with a robotic arm that tilts riders in multiple directions; think Universal’s Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey.

Planet Coaster’s Ghostbusters DLC will cost £12.99/€14.99/$14.99 USD and the Studios Pack is priced at £7.99/€9.99/$9.99 USD. Both will be available for purchase on Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, and PS5 come April 29th.
